Parthenon Mall - 1 min 10 secs
Over the course of several months, I spent a lot of time inside malls, drawing them and studying them. I got very interested in exploring our relationship towards malls, and whether or not it has changed over time. Do we still regard them as temples for consumerism and places of alienation, or has this notion has changed with the influence of technology, rendering malls as obsolete, unnecessarily spacious wastelands?

'mall at noon'
about a year ago i started doing sketchbook drawings at different malls, starting with the Bental centre in kingston and then Bluewater and any other ones i could find. i did this one last week at the Belfry in Redhill but it could have been any mall in the world because all malls have the same look / stores / feeling. expect a lot more mall related work on here

Jerkcurb: feature in NME Radar
Hiding somewhere on a street corner in deepest South London is Jerkcurb - the lo-fi bedroom project of 20-year-old art student, and buddy of King Krule, Jacob Read. Taking inspiration from the twisted verses of Moondog and Arthur Russell, he’s becoming something of a master when it comes to making melodramatic four-minute wonders from the comfort of his own home. In ‘Midnight Snack’ - the key track on Jerkcurb’s SoundCloud - he melds soft-textured guitars and hushed voices to thrilling effect. All subtle drones and waves of 3am vocals, think of it as midnight music for a midnight city.
